Why did I decide to train women?

It’s simple; everything started when I was a teen.  My mom and her close friends always talked about losing weight.  Some of them tried diets.  Some of them exercised; walking  or even running.  Don’t misunderstand me, my entire family, including me, were very active.  We regularly did heavy manual labor, farm work.  It was a long walk to the farm and a long walk home.  We never stopped our activities until it was night and time for dinner.

I loved the enthusiasm, the team work and the close relationships.  They really tried to work together.  It became my ideal for how good girlfriends are supposed to behave with each other. They never gave up, trying all the time to make a better life for themselves and their families.

When I was in college and 20 years younger, I did not pay much attention to what I ate.  I missed many vegetables and fruits.  Now,  I like to eat everything but smaller portions and more often.  Now, I need to move more, stretch more.  I have found that for me, frequent small meals combined with exercise and stretching actually relieve me of nervous, high-energy levels.  Without the meals and exercise,  I was grumpy.

I found out that I love to workout.  I not only love to workout by myself but I especially love to work out with other women. I feel comfortable being around women as they begin to feel the same sense of relief and accomplishment.  Many women have fears about their appearance especially after they have had babies.  Many are uncomfortable if they are watched as they exercise. However, I have found that the experiences I had as a young woman in the Czech Republic, the camaraderie that I had with those women, can be transferred and translated into what I can give women today.  That’s why I train women.

  1. that was inspiring and I’m not even a woman. It especially gives me pause to think about the importance of stretching as I im getting older. My mind still thinks like I’m 20 but realize the muscles are a little bit tighter and the reflexes aren’t the same. I think stretching can help bring back my agility. It is unfortunate women often feel self-conscious about their bodies because of history and our social media. Martina you are and will be inspiration for many im sure!

  4. Women seem to have a greater propensity for self criticism than men but I think that your positive approach will win many followers. Best wishes with this Martina!
